Far Cry 5 was released back in 2018 by Ubisoft and is a game set in the heartlands of Montana. You play as a Deputy tasked with taking down a psychotic cult run by the Seed “family” that has taken over Hope County.
Far Cry 5 doesn’t shy away from the crazy, wacky nature of the Far Cry franchise. It’s full of intense combat, wild missions, and loads of fun to be had.
Far Cry 5 was also recently added to Xbox Game Pass. You can read our review here on Game Pass and if it’s worth having in 2022. Naturally, many wonder if Far Cry 5 itself is worth playing in 2022.
I recently wrote a review on Far Cry 5 and how great of a game it is. Since I first played it, I found myself immediately immersed in the world of Far Cry 5 and the amazing roster of characters within it.
From a gameplay perspective, it was chaotically fun. At no point did I feel like there was a shortage of things to explore in terms of taking out enemies. There were so many weapons to choose from of all calibers and classes. My personal favorites were the sniper rifles, but there were options for even stealthier takedowns using a bow.
Far Cry 5 also has an awesome story and some grim horror involved as well. For the fans of the dark, Far Cry 5 combines its wacky nature with this grim story in the backdrop. You are constantly reminded of all the horrors and the terrors inflicted on innocent people by the Seed cult.
If bloodied bodies mutilated and strung up everywhere aren’t enough, there’s an entire portion of the country that’s been overtaken by psychosis-inducing drugs, turning ordinary people into zombie-like animals. Then there’s also the pilgrimage, which leaves most people dead at the bottom of a ravine.
To really put it into perspective, despite its age, Far Cry 5 is still a game certainly worth playing in 2022. If you have Xbox Game Pass and haven’t gotten a chance to play Far Cry 5 before, then you need to give it a play right now.
