The box-office flop film ‘Morbius’ has been rereleased to cinemas following an incredibly poor performance after its original screening in early April. The movie made around $73 million in sales, well below its movie budget.

It has since failed yet again.

The movie stars Jared Leto who plays Marvel Superhero Dr. Morbius, a man with a rare blood disease who cures himself of it and begins to shape-shift into a vampire with superpowers.

Yes, this is the actual plot of the film.

Sony Studios’ move to release the movie to over 1000 theaters across North America follows its rise to fame as an internet meme online, after the first memes of it began to pop up in October. Many of them are based off of long copypastas mocking the film’s lack of success while others just straight up poke fun at the name and absurd plotline.

In April, the movie’s release, the meme began to go viral across Twitter and Instagram, with many users jokingly using the phrase “It’s Morbin time!” This led to lead actor Jared Leto to use the phrase during a twitter video, which many users were not pleased by.

#MorbiusSweep rose to fame across the platform after users began to utilize the copypasta-based jokes on the film’s failure at the box office. Many began claiming it sold trillions of tickets and that it was the most successful film in history.

It earned a mere $280,000 over the weekend, approximately $270 per theater.
