Giancarlo Esposito, known for his role as villains like Moff Gideon, Gustavo Fring, and more, is seemingly in talks with Marvel and it looks like he wants a slice of the MCU pie as Professor X.

In a TikTok posted by coundownisitygeeks, Esposito was shown responding to a fan’s question during the TJH Superhero Car Show & Comic Con in San Antonio, Texas. Esposito stated that he would love to play Professor X.

“I have not worked for Marvel yet. I’ve been in the room with them and talked to them. I’m gonna go for something that’s a little bit different. I’m gonna go and put it out int he universe that [I’d like to play] Professor X.”

Esposito has made appearances in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul as Gustavo Fring. He’s also appeared in The Boys and The Mandalorian, as well as Far Cry 6 where he stars as the main villain (Anton Castillo).

Professor X (Charles Xavier) is the founder of the X-Men in the Marvel Comics. Professor X has been played by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy. Stewart made a brief appearance as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Although the X-Men have not had their own film in the MCU since Disney acquired the rights to Marvel, but Ms. Marvel did seem to hint at a group of superhero mutants, which may be nodding at the X-Men. There is also a Fantastic Four film and two Avengers movies in the MCU’s Phase 6, so it is a possibility that Phase 6 might also include the X-Men at some point.

The X-Men ’97 series will be coming to Disney+ in 2023 though.
