Firewall Zero is finally getting a sequel, announced First Contact Entertainment. Firewall Ultra is set to be a PlayStation VR2 game that will reportedly take advantage of all the features that the headset has.

The game will run at 4K resolution and use HDR. It will have a 110-degree FOV, eye tracking, finger touch detection, foveated rendering, short load times, and support for the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. It’s also been confirmed that the sequel will run on dedicated servers and include a separate PvE experience.

Several maps from Firewall Zero Hour will return in Firewall Ultra, but they have been improved with new areas and textures.

“There will also be new locations and contractors, but it wouldn’t be a Firewall game without the weaponry and equipment, which also feature a much deeper level of customization,” community manager Frank Marm stated.

Along with these, Firewall Ultra will be supported post-launch with new content like new characters, maps, and new weapons. Firewall Zero Hour was supported for 10 seasons, so it’s likely that Firewall Ultra will also be supported for a long time to come.

Marm thanked the Firewall community and said that “For many, Firewall Zero Hour is much more than just a game. It’s a virtual family get together, it’s a place to make new friends, or it’s an escape to another world from the comfort of their own living room.”
