We just got an exclusive look at Brandon Fraser’s unreal transformation into a 600-pound man for his newest film, The Whale.
The movie, directed by Darren Aronofsky, will tell an incredibly depressing tale that takes place on the rural outskirts of Mormon County, Idaho. New images have been revealed from the movie and you can see a huge change in Fraser’s appearance. You can see the released image below.
The photo shows Fraser’s role as Charlie, a 600-pound depressed hermit. Fraser has not actually gotten as big as is shown; although he’s gained considerable weight he’s also wearing a hyper-realistic costume complete with thinning hair. The movie will be premiering at the 79th Venice Film Festival, so this shot currently serves as a teaser.
The Whale is based off of a 2012 play by Samuel D. Hunter. It tells the story of a 600-pound man who lives on his own in his apartment, slowly eating himself away.
“Desperate to reconnect with his long-estranged daughter, he reaches out to her, only to find a viciously sharp-tongued and wildly unhappy teen,” as stated by the film’s online synopsis.
The movie is also boasting an impressive cast, complete with names like Sadie Sink, from Stranger Things, Hong Chau, from Watchmen, Samantha Morton, from The Walking Dead, and Ty Simpkins, from Insidious.
