Disney+ is adding Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan on July 22

In an unexpected decision, Disney+ is going to be adding Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan to the streaming platform.

We all know that Deadpool and Logan are some of Marvel’s goriest films, with no shortage of brutal imagery in the titles. However, it seems like Disney+ is becoming more open to adding more of Marvel’s darker projects. Not too long ago, Netflix’s Marvel shows like Daredevil were also added.

The films will be available to stream on Disney+ on July 22nd.

Disney bought the rights to the characters after the acquisition of 20th Century Fox back in 2019. It was only a matter of time until the films would be added onto Disney+.

In case you don’t know somehow, Deadpool is a film about Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), a former special operations soldier turned mercenary after being subjected to an experiment that created Wolverine.

Deadpool was a major success for Fox, and Deadpool 2 followed up with the introduction of some X-Men characters.

Logan is a film about Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) who comes out of hiding to help a girl with powers.

The three films are all rated R and are certainly not very kid-friendly, making the decision to add them to an otherwise child-oriented streaming service a big one. However, it’s not unwelcome to many.

The decision comes just ahead of Comic-Con at San Diego, where Disney is celebrating by offering free chimichangas to fans.

“Fans heading to San Diego Comic-Con can pick up a free mini chimichanga, a.k.a. Deadpool’s favorite word to say, while supplies last. Disney+’s Deadpool chimichanga truck will be available at Seaport Village at the corner of Kettner and S Embarcadero in San Diego from 12-5pm PT on Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23.”
