Oh great, another super long movie. This time, it’s Batman!
Movies, especially super hero movies, seem to have an unspoken rule when it comes to how long they’re supposed to be. The longest movies are supposed to run a little over two hours. Endgame was super long and ran for over 3 hours.
You see, here’s the thing: Exceptions to the rule exist. I’ve watched anything from Transformers to The Godfather and so many other movies that were insanely long. I typically don’t have a problem to take up 3 hours of my day to watch a movie. Of course, it actually has to be a good movie in order for me to care.
I recently wrote an article on my personal website where I talked about my thoughts on Marvel Eternals and in it, I complained that it was a long and boring movie.
Of course, not all long movies are boring. And not all boring movies are long.
The new Batman film stars Robert Pattinson–who you may remember from Twilight–and will be the first big blockbuster superhero movie of 2022. It releases on March 4, and I’m quite excited to see it.
I’m hoping that since the film will run for 3 hours that it will feature lots of exciting moments and intense action, since a longer movie should technically have enough time to pan a good story out. However, if the movie is full of filler content, it’ll be really disappointing.
Either way, the trailer looks extremely promising and we’ll just have to wait and see how it turns out. Based off of the recent streak with films grossing lots of money lately, I’m expecting that The Batman will not have anything short of a smash hit in the box office as well.
