Ubisoft has announced Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Prince of Persia fans can finally rejoice. After years upon years of waiting, Ubisoft has announced a new Prince of Persia game. The trailer for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was revealed during this year’s Summer Game Fest showcase.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a 2D action platformer that is being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. The same studio worked on Rayman Legends.

The Lost Crown features a Persian warrior named Sargon. You explore the cursed region of Mount Qaf as you search for the missing Prince Ghassan.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown uses a Metroidvania structure with the map spanning a variety of Persian mythology-inspired environments. This includes the Citadel of Knowledge and outdoor areas like the Hyrcanian Forest.

Within each area, players will need to solve puzzles, contend with danger, and work through combat encounters. There are also new time powers and side quests.

The trailer featured at Summer Game Fest showed off many of The Lost Crown’s challenges, which includes a boss battle with Jahandar the Manticore.

Ubisoft also revealed that The Lost Crown soundtrack with be composed by Iranian-born composer Mentrix who will be joined by Gareth Coker, the composer who worked on Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is set to release on January 18, 2024. It will be available to play on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Amazon Luna.
