Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is officially releasing on October 28, 2022, but there is a way players can play the campaign early.
Modern Warfare 2, the second installment in the reboot of the original Modern Warfare trilogy, will allow players across all three platforms to play the campaign early so long as you have Modern Warfare 2 preordered. There are two editions: The standard and Vault edition. We’ve detailed exactly what comes in the Vault edition here.
Players who finish the campaign will be able to get some multiplayer cosmetics as reward before the official release date.
When is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Available to Play Early?
On October 19, you can start to pre-load Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign. It will be about 72 GB for PC players, by the way. On October 20, you can enter the campaign and play to your heart’s desire.
Pre-loading the full game, including multiplayer, are separated by platform:
- Xbox: Oct. 19, 1 PM EDT
- PlayStation: Oct. 20, 7 AM EDT
- PC: Oct. 26, 1 PM EDT
How Long is the Multiplayer Preseason?
The multiplayer preseason will run from October 28 to November 15 and will allow players to rank up and unlock gear. The first official multiplayer season will begin on November 16, coinciding with the release of Warzone 2.0.
December 14 will see the release of the game’s Special Ops mode and the raid-style missions that have been teased for a while now.
