It looks like the PC version of Resident Evil Village is currently unplayable for many users after the latest update via Steam.
Capcom acknowledged the problem on Monday and stated that a new patch is causing the crash for some players.
In a tweet, Capcom wrote: “We’re aware of an ongoing issue with the latest patch that’s causing the game to crash for some users. We’re currently looking into a fix, and apologize for any inconvenience caused!”
In other Resident Evil news, Capcom will be holding a showcase this month, but not date has been officially confirmed just yet. The showcase is set to include information on Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and the remake for Resident Evil 4.
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will include the base game and three major new features, which will also be released separately as Winters’ Expansion.
One major feature includes a third-person mode, allowing players to see protagonist Ethan as they play rather than just seeing a first-person perspective.
Another feature, which will be playable in third-person mode only, will be a new story DLC called Shadows of Rose.
There will also be an update to Mercenaries mode called Additional Orders, which will introduce new playable characters including Heisenberg, Lady Dimitrescu, and Chris Redfield.
Resident Evil Village will also be getting a cloud version for the Nintendo Switch on October 28. Cloud versions will be releasing on the Switch for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 later this year.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is set to release on March 24, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
