As the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II release approaches, the Open Beta is coming up as well. PlayStation owners will be the first to start downloading at the Open Beta starting on Wednesday September 14 at 10 AM PT. Early download is available only for pre-orders on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 during this time.
The first weekend of the Open Beta period is the Early Access and it will run from September 16 to September 17 for PlayStation players. After Early Access, the Open Beta begins for PlayStation on September 18 until September 20.
The second weekend is open to all consoles and platforms where Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is available. On September 22-23, Xbox, PC, and PlayStation pre-order players will gain early access. After that, on September 24-26, all platforms will have access to the Open Beta.

It’s not just an Open Beta that players can look forward to; Call of Duty is giving away rewards to players for in-game content for playing through the Open Beta. There are a total of ten different reward items that can be earned throughout the two Beta Weekends. They can be equipped in the Beta and can only be unlocked in the Beta.
The rewards and in-game items will be available to use once Modern Warfare II launches on October 28. They will be available in Warzone 2 once that releases later this year.
Here are the rewards that can be unlocked:
- Emblem: “Smashed It”: Unlocks at Operator Level 2
- Charm: “Buckle Up”: Unlocks at Operator Level 4
- Player Cards: “Passed the Test”: Unlocks at Operator Level 6
- Sticker: “Operation First Blood”: Unlocks at Operator Level 10
- Weapon Blueprint: “Side Impact”: Unlocks at Operator Level 15
- Operator Skin: “Collision”: Unlocks at Operator Level 18
- Vinyl: “No Competition”: Unlocks at Operator Level 19
- Sticker: “Safety First”: Unlocks at Operator Level 21
- Vehicle Skin: “Floor It”: Unlocks at Operator Level 26
- Weapon Blueprint: “Frontal Impact”: Unlocks at Operator Level 30
