Rumors have been circulating that upcoming Xbox exclusive, Redfall, will be releasing sometime in May 2023. Redfall is being developed by Arkane Studios, the minds behind Deathloop and Dishonored. Microsoft had acquired Arkane with its acquisition of ZeniMax Media a few years ago.
Redfall is set to become the first full Xbox exclusive video game from the acquisition. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, had previously stated that 2023 would be a big year for Xbox exclusives. Redfall will be one of those big titles.
According to many reports, Redfall is aiming for a release in the first week of May 2023 thus far. The rumors began gaining traction when Twitter user Okami13 claimed that Redfall would be targeting an early May release.
It looks like there will also be a period of early access like there was for Forza Horizon 5. When Forza Horizon 5 first released, there was a period of a few days where premium edition owners could play before anyone else. It looks like Redfall will be getting something similar.
Redfall is set to be an open-world action game where four friends work together to liberate a town from vampires. Players will get access to creative weapons, abilities, and some optional stealth gameplay in this co-op title.
Arkane has emphasized that it will have “immersive sim” gameplay for solo players that should mimic a more traditional Arkane experience.
Arkane will release on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms only and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its first day.
