Ubisoft has responded to claims that Roller Champions is planning on getting canceled after its third season. Ubisoft confirmed that it “fully supports it,” with the development team saying that they are “making sure we focus on what our players have told us needs improvement.”
The developers also confirmed that they would extend the length of the current season, Disco Fever, and add a patch to let players send out cross-play invites and fix bugs and other issues.
Roller Champions also confirmed that “more improvements” would be coming prior to the start of the next season.

Ubisoft seems to be going through some rough waters lately. After announcing a delay for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the cancelation of Ghost Recon Frontline and Splinter Cell VR, as well as a delay for Assassin’s Creed Rift, Ubisoft is now also reportedly planning on canceling Roller Champions.
Jeff Grubb, a journalist at Giant Bomb, spoke on the Xbox Era podcast and claimed that ”Roller Champions is gonna be canceled after Season 3.” He based his statement off of a message from an alleged source.
Roller Champions was announced back in 2019 and launched in May 2022. Roller Champions is a free-to-play online roller skating game that was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the studio behind the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Roller Champions features two teams of three players each who must skate in laps with the objective to throw a ball through a hoop for points. It also includes a battle pass system for monetization.
According to Ubisoft’s recent financial call, Roller Champions is doing better numbers-wise than the now-canceled Hyper Scape. It has also already received several seasons of content following launch.
Hyper Scape was a free-to-play battle royale that allowed up to 100 player battles. The game was canceled recently, and saw a major dip in its player-base following launch. Many called the game a complete failure. Hyper Scape was also developed by Ubisoft Montreal.
Hyper Scape had ceased updates only one year after its open-beta in July 2020. It was canceled shortly after.
Despite Roller Champions doing better than Hyper Scape, it still isn’t seeing major viewership on the streaming platform, Twitch.
