For a lot of us, it’s not really practical to expect that we can haul around our console or PC wherever we go just to play video games. And sometimes, even if you have a Nintendo Switch or a Steam Deck, you just don’t really feel like playing some of those games. Mobile comes in handy for that on-the-go gaming session for sure!
Since most people out there have phones nowadays, Android and iOS have lots of games on their respective stores that can make it hard to figure out which are the best.

10. Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is a very popular free-to-play RPG that you can play with your friends in co-op. You can get a massive roster of characters and have fun with your particular playstyle.
Genshin Impact is also really pretty to look at and has a nice map to explore. Plus, there’s always something new to do! You can also sync your progress between the mobile version and the PC/PS4/PS5 versions of the game too.
9. Modern Ops
Modern Ops is a FPS mobile game that’s free and is a pretty good alternative to other FPS games on this list if you don’t want to play those.
However, it’s not going to be as fancy or crazy as COD Mobile, just FYI.
8. PUBG: New State
PUBG: New State is the new version of the original PUBG Mobile, but it’s not a replacement. You can play both if you want, but PUBG: New State does offer some neat improvements over the original title.
Firstly, it’s got better visuals, new mechanics, and new combat. However, it’s not going to be hard to figure out if you’ve previously played PUBG Mobile.
7. FIFA Soccer
For those of you that enjoy sports games and a bit of soccer, FIFA Soccer is the official FIFA game for mobile.
Do be aware though that it is by EA…so, yeah, there’s some HEFTY monetization involved in this one. Still, for those of you that don’t mind EA’s money-making style, this should be a fun game.

There are lots of car-based games out there, but Asphalt 9 Legends is one of the best free racing games out there.
It’s got a multiplayer mode and boasts some really, really nice graphics!

The latest release in the Diablo franchise by Blizzard, Diablo Immortal has quickly risen to become a popular MMO for mobile.
There’s plenty to do with friends, including raids. Additionally, Diablo Immortal is a really high-quality game for mobile standards and it feels more like a console-quality experience.
4. Clash of Clans
Arguably one of the most popular mobile games of all time, Clash of Clans is great for those of you that can’t get enough of strategy games out there.
If you enjoy playing things like Crusader Kings or Age of Empires, Clash of Clans is a perfect mobile option for you!
3. PUBG Mobile
The original PUBG for mobile players, PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular games on the App Store and Google Play Store ever. It’s got easy-to-learn combat and it’s plenty of fun.
PUBG did start out as a more realistic game, but has since become pretty crazy with all the skins and microtransactions. Still, it’s fun so if you don’t care much for realism (you likely don’t if you’re just passing time honestly), it’s a good game and among the best free mobile games that provide multiplayer as the main gameplay element

One of the most popular mobile games, Apex Legends Mobile didn’t come out all that long ago, yet it’s already making waves.
Apex Legends Mobile is a smooth game that mimics the PC/console version of the game well and includes a BR mode that you can hop into with your friends.

Currently, no other mobile game can really match up to Call of Duty Mobile and its quality. It has nice graphics, good guns, and great sounds.
COD Mobile compiles all of the popular maps and skins from standard Call of Duty multiplayer games and puts them together in a single mobile experience. It’s a really great game and has a lot of fun to offer with its ranked mode too and is likely the best free multiplayer game on mobile out there.
