Tom Hanks is one of Hollywood’s most well-known names. He’s had roles in 85 or so films. However, during an interview with People, the actor stated that he believes only four of the films were “pretty good.”
“No one knows how a movie is made — though everyone thinks they do,” Hanks stated during his interview. “I’ve made a ton of movies (and four of them are pretty good, I think), and I’m still amazed at how films come together. From a flicker of an idea to the flickering image onscreen, the whole process is a miracle.”
“Movie-making is very hard work over a very long period of time that consists of so many moments of joy slapped up against an equal number of feelings of self-loathing,” he said. “It is the greatest job in the world and the most confounding of labors that I know of.”
Hanks’ starring in Forest Gump, Castaway, and Saving Private Ryan have all made him one of television’s most well-received actors. Other films like A Beautiful Day, and his most recent films Elvis and Pinocchio have made his career a historic one. However, no one actually knows which four he considers “pretty good.”
However, the actor also plans to release his first novel, a book titled The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece, on May 9 of 2023.
