Ready-or-not-Steam-Early-Access-is-now-available

Ready or Not, the popular new tactical first-person-shooter that entered Early Access in 2021, is finally back on Steam after a takedown associated with copyright infringement.

NME initially reported that the issue was related to a level recently released in the game that depicted a shooting at a nightclub. The level had been released on the anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting, with the club in the game being named Prysm.

Void Interactive, the developer behind Ready or Not, announced on Twitter that the game was back on Steam.

The apology comes after Ready or Not and any associated pages were taken down from Steam on June 16.

“A takedown request was issued via Steam concerning a suggested trademark infringement in our recent Night Club map that was shared as part of our most recent Steam update,” the developers stated. “We take IP concerns very seriously, and in a show of good faith, we have decided to remove the subject materials and any reference to them from Ready or Not and from any of our social media or other publications.

“Ready or Not will return to the Steam store once we complete the changes. We have also removed the AI update video from our YouTube channel and from our Steam Store page, and anticipate that these will be restored after an editing process is completed.”

Void did not address the rumors regarding the nightclub being released on the anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting. However, many Twitter users have pointed out that the Prysm club in Ready or Not was similar to a nightclub chain in the UK, and that the takedown claim was associated to that instead.
