Netflix is pushing hard on its work in video games, and it looks like the company is planning on making “a brand-new AAA PC game.” This comes according to more than a dozen job listings on its website for Netflix Games Studio’s Los Angeles office, as spotted by Mobilegamer.biz.

It looks like Netflix is working towards putting together the team for the first Netflix Games Studio in Los Angeles project. The game director position will be in charge of a AAA PC game, making it the first PC game by Netflix. Netflix has previously only worked on mobile games.

The Netflix Games Studio in Los Angels is being headed by Chacko Sonny, a former executive producer at Blizzard who worked on Overwatch and Overwatch 2.

The game director is also set to be in charge of developing the “world/characters/narrative that are worth of a Netflix film/TV series.” Additionally, the director needs experience with Unreal Engine and first/third-person shooter games.

Netflix is also working on finding an art director and technical director as well as lead artists and lead engineers.

As of right now, Netflix offers 40 different games. Some of the games are all spin-offs based on popular Netflix shows like Stranger Things and others are classic mobile games like runner and racing games.

Netflix also recently acquired three game studios (Boss Fight Entertainment, Night School Studio and Next Games). Netflix also recently started a studio in Helsinki, Finland with a former GM from Zynga at the head.

Any Netflix subscriber has access to its games at no additional cost. There’s no telling if that will change with the upcoming AAA title.

The PC game Netflix is working on will also have no microtransactions, which is something that many have highlighted on.
