Harrison Ford will be playing General ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross in the MCU.
According to reporter Jeff Sneider, Ford has been recast for the role following the death of the original actor, William Hurt. There were speculations that Ford would be in Thunderbolts back in September, but it has now been confirmed.
On Twitter, Sneider wrote that “we’re hearing Harrison Ford HAS, in fact, been cast as Gen. Thunderbolt Ross, who is expected to make his first appearance in… CAPTAIN AMERICA 4.”
The news was also confirmed by /Film, who stated that Ford will be appearing in Marvel’s Thunderbolts. Thunderbolts will be a new supervillain team-up movie that will end Phase 5 of Marvel.
General Ross appeared in the 2008 film, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War Avengers: Endgame, and Black Widow.
William Hurt unfortunately passed away earlier this year, leaving them needing to recast the role
It’s not clear what Harrison Ford’s role will be in the upcoming film.
It’s possible that General Ross will make an appearance as Red Hulk, which was something teased in a recent episode of Marvel’s latest show, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
In the original She-Hulk comics, General Ross is created as part of a super soldier program by Intelligencia. Red Hulk debuted in 2008 and became a fan-favorite very quickly.
Although this is just speculation, it’s possible that Red Hulk will appear. However, we definitely know that ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross will show up.
