Infinity Ward has confirmed that several changes will be made to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 following the recent Open Beta.
Infinity Ward has acknowledged that more changes need to be made aside from footstep audio and enemy visibility.
In a statement, Infinity Ward said, ”while sentiment around footstep audio was more positive in Beta Weekend Two, we have seen your continued feedback on the volume of footsteps and will continue to balance enemy/friendly footstep audio ahead of launch.
“Enemy visibility is something that came up throughout both weekends of our Beta. While many of you remarked on the improvement in Weekend Two, we’ll look to tweak increased enemy visibility to allow for better visual tracking of opponents that is not solely the traditional nameplate.
“Disbanding lobbies are another topic we addressed during BEta. WE feel this is an important feature and are actively looking for potential solutions for launch.”
Additionally, Infinity Ward added that it was ”very happy with the results of the weapon tuning changes” that were made for the second weekend of the Open Beta, but that more changes will be coming in the future.
Activision stated that the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta was a record-breaking one for the series.
“Call of Duty players made the Modern Warfare II Open Beta the biggest Beta in Call of Duty history — the most players, most hours played, and most matches played across PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PC platforms,” the company said.
Activision has also already seen success with Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, already breaking a record for Activision, Blizzard and King mobile games with 15 million pre-registrations on Google Play already.
