Popular Sovietcore first-person-shooter Hrot has recently released its second episode, titled The Degustation.

The second episode starts out with the player finding an object on the ground. Once picked up, a menu showcasing an old, retro-style Soviet knockoff game pops up. In the interactive-game the player acts as a wolf picking up falling eggs from a group of hens. It takes a much darker turn following this however.

The game, set in Czechoslovakia in the latter 80’s, is purposefully designed to be a shockingly-dark and grim game. Developer Spytihněv stated: “Those times were dark and terrifying and so is this game.”

The episode was unveiled on June 22nd. The first level takes place in a castle hidden away in the nation’s mountains, very different from episode one which takes place in the middle of a very brutalist-esque Soviet city.

The game’s final episode, The Gastroscopy, is planned to release at an unknown date.
