PC gaming is a very popular hobby. With the recent quarantine and lockdown, there’s been a major spike in the number of people who search for and play video games. It’s grown from more than just a hobby–some people have built livelihoods out of gaming. There are a large number of online and offline games, and the list keeps growing every day.
However, we all know that dreaded moment when a game we want to play requires an internet connection and unfortunately, our internet is just being…well…a jerk. Thankfully many video games out there allow for offline playing to help us out during our most disconnected times.
1. Elden Ring
Elden Ring has been one of the most highly praised video games of 2022 and doesn’t seem to be going down any time soon. The difficult but fantastic Soulsborne game has been praised for its combat, atmosphere, and so much more.
A video game that lived up to and beyond its hype, it’s also a game you don’t need internet for at all. Elden Ring is totally available to play offline, making it one of the best options you can get.
2. Dishonored
We can’t hide the fact that we love Dishonored here, and for good reason. Dishonored has consistently ben one of the best stealth games out there. Plus, Dishonored allows for players to have the option to go through missions in their own playstyle.
With this type of interactivity and choice-based gameplay, Dishonored is a game that can be replayed over and over and can be all done offline.
3. DOOM
The ultimate classic shooter, DOOM understands mindless fun like no other game could. Storm your way through the gates of Hell, slaughter some demons, and remember:

4. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
Vikings have been getting lots of attention in the world of entertainment, and we can’t blame anyone for enjoying it. Live out your dreams of being the ultimate Viking slaughtering machine in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.
Graphically impressive and fun to play through, Valhalla offers a whopping 100+ hours of gameplay. And it can all be done offline.
5. Red Dead Redemption II
Considered one of the best games ever made, Red Dead Redemption II has been at the forefront of cowboy games since it first released. And to this day, it still holds up as being one of the best products Rockstar has put out.
Featuring a long but beautiful campaign, Red Dead Redemption II is something you can enjoy all the time and always offline.
Conclusion
Nobody said you needed to be connected to the internet 24/7 to enjoy a good video game or two. So, if you’re on that annoyingly boring long road trip and you’ve got yourself a gaming laptop, then you definitely need to have an arsenal of offline games.
After playing through all of these games, I can say with absolute certainty that they never grow boring, tiring, or old.
