343 Industries has announced that it would be delaying Season 3 of Halo Infinite to March 2023, extending Season 2 even further. Season 2 launched back in May and was supposed to run for three months, but now it will run for 10 months.

Halo Infinite players who were looking forward to Forge will have to wait some more, as the Forge beta has been delayed and will launch on November 8 alongside co-op. Forge was initially set to release in September.

Forge is set to allow players to edit multiplayer levels and build new maps to share with other players. It is a beloved feature in previous Halo games like the Master Chief Collection. 343 announced that Forge will launch alongside two new multiplayer maps, both of which are built with the Forge editor.

Campaign co-op and mission replay will be available on November 8 as well, but the features were set to be released in late August initially. However, 343 Industries has announced the cancelation of a highly anticipated feature. No local split-screen co-op will be coming to Halo Infinite.

In a statement by 343 to IGN, the studio confirmed the cancelation stating that “in order to improve and accelerate ongoing live service development, and to better address player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on local campaign split-screen co-op.”

The cancelation of couch co-op is sure to be a disappointment to many Halo fans out there, but Halo Infinite players will still be able to play online co-op on November 8.

In terms of the XP system in Halo Infinite, the winter update will include new methods of earning XP. Instead of completing challenges, Halo Infinite players will get a new Match XP beta that lets players level up alongside completing the battle pass.

Arena and Big Team Battle will get new maps for Season 3 in March and players will get a new shroud screen equipment ability to allow them to disappear from radars. Halo Infinite will also get an in-game reporting system to allow players to report cheaters.
