Google has new chromebooks for cloud gaming

Cloud gaming has been getting a big push over the past few years. Despite the death of Google’s Stadia service, other companies like Nvidia and its GeForce NOW are still going on strong. And now, Google is planning on making Chromebooks that are focused on functioning with cloud gaming.

In a new press release, Google announced its partnership with Acer, Asus, and Lenovo to make these gaming Chromebooks that are designed for subscription services like Nvidia GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The Acer Chromebook 516 GE will feature a 120Hz WQXGA display with an anti-ghosting RGB keyboard, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, force-canceling and DTS speakers. There will be a few different model with different specs on memory and more. The Acer Chromebook can go up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM, up to 256GB of NVMe SSD, and two CPU options: Intel Core i5-1240P or i7-1260P. The Acer Chromebook 516 GE starts at $649.99 and will be available to purchase at Best Buy.

The Asus Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip will feature a 144Hz FHD display, an anti-ghosting keyboard, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, a 720p camera, and Harmon Kardon-certified dual speakers. It can be configured with up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7, 512GB of SSD, and 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook will have up to a 120Hz WQXGA display, an anti-ghosting keyboard, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, and a four-speaker system with Wave audio tuning. There will be an option of either a 12th Gen Intel Core i3 or Core i5 CPU, and one of the following storage options: either 128GB of eMMC SSD or 256/512GB of M.2 PCIe 2242. It will start with an MSRP of $599.
