EA’ official Twitter account has been roasted into oblivion after tweeting out a joke making fun of single-player games. Clearly, they were the only ones laughing.
EA, trying to do their own version of a popular meme I guess, tweeted out “they’re a 10 but they only like playing single-player games”. Of course, one of the things people attacked the brand over was their own single player games. EA has been the developer behind major titles like Mass Effect, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and The Sims 4.
Big Twitter users in the gaming sphere, including the head of EA’s respawn entertainment mocked the tweet.
The company proceeded to respond to their own tweet, attempting to do some sort of satirical makeup to their fans. This of course follows almost 10,000 quote tweets, mostly negative, and over 9,000 replies. I guess that’s one way to do marketing.
