Arkane Lyon, the developers behind Deathloop, has announced its next project will be a new Blade game at The Game Awards 2023. Arkane Lyon also showcased its first teaser trailer for Blade, which will be a game focused on the iconic vampire hunter.
Bethesda is calling the new game “a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris,” and development has already begun. The development confirmation was made by Marvel Studios’a announcement and the game will tell a brand new original story.
The synopsis of the game reveals that Marvel’s Blade “will take players to a quarantined section of Paris in the middle of a supernatural emergency. Vampires have emerged, terrorizing the city of lights and forcing Parisians to shelter inside their homes at night to wait for sunrise.”
News about this Blade game comes as Blade is set to make his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although Blade technically made an appearance in the 2021 film Eternals, that was an off-screen appearance.
The standalone Blade film will be in theatres on November 7, 2025, and will star Mahershala Ali.
Marvel’s Blade is now the second vampire-focused Arakne game after Redfall, which was developed by Arkane Austin. Redfall was not met with much fanfare, but it’s likely that Blade’s name-recognition and popularity will make this game a highly-anticipated one.
