The Mario Movie

Illumination is currently in the works of releasing a comic-con teaser-trailer premiere for their upcoming Super Mario bros. film on October sixth.

The film’s star, Chris Pratt, who will be voicing Mario, says there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to the film. In a statement on twitter, Pratt announced that he had already seen the new ad, and that he was “simply blown away” by it. Pratt is known for his role in the Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises.

I just saw the teaser trailer for the very first time myself. I am simply blown away. You will be too, I promise you. This one is VERY special. Cannot wait!!! #SuperMarioBrosMovie

This isn’t the first time Pratt has openly spoke about the film’s development. Back in June he sat down with Variety and said that he had been working incredibly hard on perfecting the Mario voice, and that it was “unlike anything” fans have seen beforehand in the Nintendo universe.

I worked really closely with the directors and trying out a few things and landed on something that I’m really proud of and can’t wait for people to see and hear…It’s an animated voiceover narrative. It’s not a live-action movie. I’m not gonna be wearing a plumber suit running all over. I’m providing a voice for an animated character, and it is updated and unlike anything you’ve heard in the Mario world before.

The trailer will be exclusively premiering to NYC Comic-Con attendees unfortunatley, so everyone else will have to wait for the time being. The film will also star Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, and Seth Rogan. You can see Pratt’s tweet below.
