Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II released its worldwide premiere, with some fans excited and others not so much. The trailer showed a campaign full of action as Task Force 141 navigates the deadly world of fighting drug cartels. It was also announced that Call of Duty would be selling on Steam this year.
Modern Warfare II is not to be confused with the original Modern Warfare II that released back in 2009. The 2022 reboot is a separate title that is a follow-up to the reboot of the original Modern Warfare. Lots of reboots and remasters to go through, looks like.
Call of Duty is also making a big change by ending its exclusivity on Blizzard’s Battle.net platform. Now, Call of Duty is coming back to Steam. Many gamers are glad to see this return, as keeping games in one launcher is ideal for many.
However, the standard edition is launching at its most expensive yet for PC: $70. This is the first Call of Duty title to extend the price hike to its PC versions.

Video games seem to be getting more expensive year by year, with Sony’s PS5 exclusives also coming out at a standard of $70. Activision has been charging $70 for the console editions, but the PC editions were usually capped at $60.
It’s a pretty disappointing thing for many PC gamers, especially with the standard edition being so expensive. I guess if you’re patient enough, you can wait for a sale.
Activision is also offering a pre-order special for the $99.99 Vault Edition, which includes 50 Battle Pass tier skips, some extra skins, and the Season 1 Battle Pass. Also, people who pre-order get early access to the Open Beta.
The official release date for Modern Warfare II is October 28.
