The upcoming live service Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Infinity, seems to have gotten new details leaked. Assassin’s Creed Infinity was initially announced back in 2021, and was announced by Ubisoft to be a massive studio-encompassing effort.
Jeff Grubb recently spoke on his podcast, Game Mess Mornings, to discuss Assassin’s Creed Infinity. Grubb stated that fans will be hearing very soon about a new setting for the game. It was also recently reported that Japan would be one of the settings in Assassin’s Creed Infinity. The setting was codenamed Red at the time. Grubb clarified that Japan was not the only setting that will be introduced in the game, however.
Grubb commented that the new setting is “not something that people have been asking for,” so he’s leaving it to Ubisoft to make the reveal. Grubb believes that fans will find the new setting exciting though.
It is not new information for fans of the Assassin’s Creed series that there will be more than one setting featured in Assassin’s Creed Infinity. The game is set to be a live service, meaning that it will be supported for a long period of time with updates to add more content. It has been also suggested that Infinity will include smaller Assassin’s Creed stories rather than just have one campaign as was traditionally done.
There have also been rumors that Assassin’s Creed Infinity will take players to a Russian setting, but it is not clear if that is the setting Grubb was referencing.
There is no current release date for Assassin’s Creed Infinity, and it’s not certain which platforms will be seeing the game release on it. More news is expected to come out at the Ubisoft Forward event in September.
