Alice: Madness Returns is back on Steam after a sudden delisting

Alice: Madness Returns is a cult-classic, beloved by fans for years since it originally released. The horror-twist on Alice in Wonderland has a dedicated fanbase that not many other games can boast.

Alice: Madness Returns was delisted from Steam without warning a few days ago, prompting confusion from many players. This isn’t the first time the game has suffered a removal from Steam. Back in 2016, verification problems with publisher, EA, led to the game being delisted.

This year, Alice: Madness Returns was brought back on Steam, but removed not long after. The removal confused the game’s creator, American McGee, who speculated that the issue arose as a result of a technical issue at Steam.

McGee later revealed that the removal came about after a member of his team instructed Steam to “shut everything down,” believing that games like it had been moved to McGee’s new company, Mysterious Inc.

Although the sequel is available on Steam, it seems unlikely that the original game, American McGee’s Alice, will ever be available on the platform. McGee stated that he does not know where fans can purchase the game either. Either way, Alice: Madness Returns should be a good experience for those out there hungry for a hack-and-slash featuring a childhood favorite.

Alice: Madness Returns follows the story of Alice from the classic tale, Alice in Wonderland, as she fights to regain her sanity. The hack-and-slash title features some brutal combat, dark visuals, and an experience that has received overwhelmingly positive ratings from players.
