It looks like Sony Interactive Entertainment is planning on releasing a remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn for the PlayStation 5.

MP1ST first reported on the news, with other sources corroborating the news, as well as VGC.

Horizon Zero Dawn was released back in 2017 and developed by Guerilla Games. The updated version is set to bring improved visuals, new character models, better lighting, and better animations in order to help it become up to standard with Horizon Forbidden West.

Additionally, new accessibility features, graphics modes, and quality-of-life improvements will be made to the gameplay.

This wouldn’t be the first time PlayStation was re-released some of its most popular titles. It has already remastered and remade many titles to be updated for the PlayStation 5, including Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted 4, and The Last of Us.

Horizon Zero Dawn received a PC release back in 2020 and it came with several improvements, but mostly reused assets and features from the PlayStation 4 release version.

MP1ST also claims that Guerilla Games is working on a Horizon multiplayer game for PlayStation 5 and PC. Guerilla Games has expressed in the past desires to bring co-op into the Horizon universe, with either a stand-alone multiplayer or a co-op feature in the third installment.
