A new Deus Ex game is reportedly in the early stages of development at Eidos Montreal, according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier.
On Tuesday, Shreier claimed that Eidos Montreal is also working on a new IP and is collaborating with Microsoft on Xbox games including Fable.
Embracer Group recently acquired a large part of Square Enix‘s western development branches for $300 million. This includes Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, Square Enix Montreal, and several IPs that include Tomb Raider, Deux Ex and Thief.
On Tuesday, Bloomberg stated that Embracer is planning on closing the studio formerly known as Square Enix Montreal, not long after it was rebranded to Onoma.
Schreier claimed that some of the staff from Onoma would be moving to work at Eidos Montreal.
“Eidos Montreal, which remained intact, canceled the Stranger Things-inspired ‘kids on bikes’ game that was rumored recently,” Schreier wrote.
Eidos Montreal is now reportedly working on a new IP that was “recently rescoped,” a Deux Ex game that is “very very early” in development.
Back in May, Embracer stated that it would release sequels, remakes, remasters, spin-offs and more for IPs it was acquiring from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.
Crystal Dynamics had announced back in April that the next Tomb Raider game was in development and that it would use Unreal Engine 5.
