Nelly Korda

Have you ever seen a fan walk onto a baseball field and pick up the ball mid-game? Probably not, and neither have we, but this is exactly what happened during Sunday’s Women’s Golf Major.

Golfer Nelly Korda found herself in an awkward situation during the Evian Championship last week after an excited fan picked up her ball after it rolled to a stop.

During the match’s par-four sixth hole Korda would accidentally skew her ball off towards the side of the field into the trees, where it would stop on a spectator’s path.

That’s bad enough already but the situation became worse after a fan noticed the ball and picked it up, going towards an official to present what she had found as a souvenir. However, on her way there, commentator Grand Boone yelled “It’s not a souvenir!” at the lady.

An official approached the now concerned fan and redirected her to the zone where she had found the ball. She returned it to the ground but looked up with a shocked expression.

As Korda was arriving towards the spot where the ball had landed she was told about the incident that had just gone down.

She ended up finishing 13-under par for the tournament, after messing up in the rest of the game. She lost only four strokes behind Canadian player Brooke Henderson.
