Something that seems to be growing with time is the push for people to leave behind their standard 9-5 jobs and begin working from home. In fact, it’s such a massive-scale phenomenon that some economists are even calling it The Great Resignation, and it makes sense. Thousands of people across the world have left behind their old places of employment and began their own webpages, blogs, business, stores, or anything in-between! If it can be done, it can make money!
If you’ve been eyeing the world of blogging lately then you might’ve seen a dramatic increase in the amount of blogs out there. Searching up anything on the internet will yield thousands upon thousands of search results, each one coming from its own blog page! I keep hearing people talk about how “old” or “oversaturated” blogging is.
Let me tell you, this is complete nonsense.
Not only can (and should) you start a blog, but you can monetize it too! You can begin, right now, to earn your own income by just writing about things you love to talk about. We’ve compiled a list of 4 steps to getting a professional-level blogging website off the ground, so let’s get blogging!
Step 1: Find a niche and name
The first step to starting any online project is finding your niche. This could be anything. Maybe you’re good at business and marketing. Maybe you help people run their finances. Maybe you like to cook, build, clean, shop, dress. Point being, it doesn’t matter what it is, if you’re good at talking about it you’ll be great at writing about it.
You’ll have to find your niche by yourself, but you can take inspiration from online or others around you. You can look through blogs you like to read and get some ideas, or you can directly ask people how they found their niches.
Once this step is done everything else becomes way easier. Having a niche may help find a name, style, and format for your blog, all of which are necessary to a good and efficient blog that’ll make you money in 2022.

Step 2: Get the right domain
Getting the right domain is a really important step to running not just a blog, but really any website. The domain is the thing people search up to get to your blog, so it’s got to be right. If it’s long and complicated, chances are it’ll be harder to find. Notice how companies always have a short and sweet domain. This isn’t just by luck; it’s because it’s almost a form of marketing on its own.
It’s significantly harder to remember websites that have long and complicated domains. This is, simply put, just branding. Making sure your website name and thus domain is short and sweet is a very helpful tool that will boost your engagement.
There are a lot of good places to purchase domains from. I, as someone with heavy experience in website building, suggest you use Namecheap. Their prices are low, interface easy to use, and everything is kept in a very professional manner. I can’t recommend this website enough to anyone starting a new page.
Step 3: Start developing a website
There’s a very diverse set of ways to go about this step. Depending on your hosting platform, you may have to develop your website on your own. If you have the money for it, you can hire a freelancer or professional team to develop it for you. Furthermore, you could set up the website with a company such as Wix or WordPress.
This step is very diverse and difficult to condense into one section of an article. There are some things to keep in mind however when it comes to developing the actual page:
- Make sure to make it look nice. This is arguably the most important step of the process. People are naturally less inclined to look more frequently at cheap-looking websites. If your page looks professional and well-done it’ll tell people that you care about the website, and they’ll have a greater incentive to keep reading.
- Furthermore, make sure the website is easy to navigate and is set up in a reasonable manner. If things are clumped together or looked stuffed it’ll feel claustrophobic and hard to view for users, which will cause some to stop reading. Afterall, there are thousands of blogs out there in the sea of Google. Yours needs to stick out in some way!
Step 4: You’re ready to start blogging!
Now that you’ve done the hard stuff, you’re ready to start blogging! You can begin writing your articles and putting them out there for the world to see.
Keep in mind you’ll have to do some marketing to grow at first, but as time goes on views will start naturally coming towards your page. Welcome to the world of blogging!
