Paradox Interactive has revealed brand new details about its upcoming The Sims rival, Life by You. The title was teased earlier this month and will be the debut title from Paradox Tectonic, a studio established back in 2019. Paradox Tectonic is currently headed by Rod Huble, the former boss of EA’s The Sims and ex-CEO of Second Life developer Linden Labs.
Paradox said today that Life by You will allow players to create humans and live out their lives in an open world without any loading screens. It was “created to be the most moddable and open life simulator.”
A new trailer has also been released for the title. Life by You will be available in Early Access on September 12 and will be priced at $39.99. It will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
“Life by You allows players to design and live out the lives of the humans that they create in an open game world where everything is customizable,” Paradox stated.
“Players create their households, build their homes, and tell life’s many stories. With real language conversation and the ability to switch from third-person to direct control gameplay, players will connect with their humans on an emotional level.”
Paradox Tectonic general manager Humble also explained that Life by You will have “unparalleled levels of storytelling.”
The Sims is a life simulator game by EA that has been around for quite some time now. Life simulators are nothing new, but perhaps Paradox is offering up something much more lucrative than any other simulation game has before. We’ll just have to wait and see.
