The new God of War: Ragnarök has gotten some spoilers leaking online after some retailers decided to sell the title two weeks early.
Cory Barlog, the producer behind God of War: Ragnarök, expressed his disappointment and apologized to fans who were waiting for the sequel, saying “this is not at all how any of us at [Sony Santa Monica] wanted things to go.”
It appears as though physical discs with the full game installed have been sold on some retailer shelves, with some fans already getting access to the storyline. Barlog tweeted about this point, writing, “A retailer selling the game TWO WEEKS before release. Just so disappointing.”
“Sorry to everyone that you have to dodge the spoilers if you want to play the game fresh. Completely f**king stupid you have to do this.”
Many fans responded to Barlog, expressing that they would not use social media to avoid spoilers. However, this leak is not the only set of spoilers God of War: Ragnarök has seen. Screenshots from the title appeared to leak ahead of the release next month as well.
