Ye (Kanye West) is back on Instagram after being suspended for antisemitic posts and has posted new images hours after being escorted from the Skechers headquarters amid a wave of businesses severing ties with the rapper.
In his first post, Ye reposted a joke that showed a fake article titled ”Ye has reportedly cut ties with Kanye West.” His second post was directed at Ari Emmanuel, the CEO of the entertainment and media agency Endeavor. The CEO had written an op-ed in the Financial Times saying that ”those who continue to do business with West are giving his misguided hate an audience.”
Ye had originally tweeted ”I’m going death con 3 on Jewish people,” after posting a text exchange with Sean ”Diddy” Combs on Instagram that showed Combs disagreeing with Ye’s antisemitic remarks with Ye suggesting that Combs was being controlled by Jewish people. The posts have since been deleted.
Emmanuel continued, writing that ”there should be no tolerance anywhere for West’s anti-Semitism. This is a moment in history where the stakes are high and being open about our values, and living them, is essential. Silence and inaction are not an option.”
Ye wrote a response, saying: ”I lost 2 billion dollars in one day and I’m still alive. This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am.”
Celebrities and companies have taken stands against West for his antisemitic comments, with Adidas announcing that it was ending its $1.5 billion deal with Ye. TJX announced it would no longer sell Ye’s apparel and Gap has stopped selling his YeezyGap line.
Ye has also been removed from the Forbes billionaire list after he lost $2 billion, which dropped his net worth down to $400 million.
