Bithell Games has announced a new video game set in the Tron universe titled Tron Identity. The game was announced officially during the Disney games showcase on Friday.

Bithell Games is a British studio that has worked on Thomas Was Alone and John Wick Hex. Their new game is set to be a “visual novel adventure” about a detective named Query who must uncover a theft.

Disney stated that Tron Identity is a “new extension” of the Tron franchise. It will allow players to unlock new servers with original and new programs to either fight with or against.

The synopsis for Tron Identity states that: “In a new Grid, forgotten by its creator and left alone to evolve without User intervention, an unprecedented crime has been committed. The Repository stands at the center of this society. In the aftermath of a break-in, the future of this Grid hangs in the balance.

“Finding yourself in a world built on unstable foundations and filled with whispered knowledge, it’s up to you to question suspects and investigate your surroundings to piece together the truth.”

Player decisions will have an impact on the unfolding of the story. Tron Identity will also allow players to “interact with a number of intriguing characters, and decide whether to ally with them, spurn them, or even derezz them…you’ll need to recover their lost memories in your search for answers, puzzling your way through defragging Identity Discs. The world of TRON is growing, and your adventure is the seed.”

The Disney remake of Tron released back in 2010 and was officially titled Tron: Legacy. It starred Olivia Wilde as Quorra, Garrett Hedlund as Sam Flynn, and Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn and villain Clu. It also featured an original soundtrack by the now broken-up Daft Punk.
