Activision has finally announced that Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is coming. The title was originally codenamed Project Aurora.

The Warzone Mobile teaser trailer came accompanied with a message, with plans to unveil the title during a Call of Duty event next week, VGC reports.

The event is currently titled Call of Duty Next and will take place on September 15. Along with details about Warzone Mobile, Activision is set to unveil more information on the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

Call of Duty Warzone Mobile was announced to be in the works back in March. It is different from the current Call of Duty Mobile, however.

May saw Warzone Mobile in its alpha testing and then gameplay footage from those tests leaked, revealing that the game will use the Verdansk map.

Warzone Mobile is being worked on at Solid State, Activision’s mobile game development studio, Beenox, Activision Shanghai, and Digital Legends.

There is no official release date currently, but it’s slated for a release in 2022.
