Former US Intelligence officers warn current US intelligence to keep quiet on role in Russia-Ukraine war
Former US intelligence officers are warning current US intelligence to keep quiet on the role of the US in the Russia-Ukraine war. The recommendations come after a report recently revealed that U.S. intelligence provided for Ukraine the location of the Moskva warship, allowing for Ukraine to successfully sink the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Paul Piller, a former CIA official said that “My personal view is it’s unwise. I am surprised the extent of official confirmation of the role of US intelligence in the sinking…and even more so the killing of the generals. The big concern is that this sort of public confirmation of this extensive US role in the setbacks dealt to the Russians may provoke Putin into escalation in a way that he might not otherwise feel it necessary to escalate.”
Several other intelligence officials also stated their displeasure and lack of approval of the sharing of U.S. intelligence information regarding the war.
