Warzone 2.0‘s DMZ mode is going to be getting a wipe for all player progress when the Season 2 update launches. The Tarkov-like extraction game mode has been a pretty popular addition to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In DMZ, players complete missions and gather loot but can lose everything if they die before extracting.
Similar to Escape From Tarkov, DMZ will be reset for Season 2. The DMZ inventory and Faction mission progress will be reset. So, starting February 15, you have to complete the missions and gather Contraband weapons and keys all over again.
There will be new missions for Season 2 in DMZ as well. It will take players to Al Mazrah, Building 21, and a “new exclusion Zone,” which is currently believed to be the new Resurgence map. The new missions should offer new rewards as well, such as Weapon Blueprints.
The developers have not announced this just yet, but CharlieIntel and ModernWarzone have both received confirmations regarding the news.
The Insured Weapon Slot will also be reset with the update. However, it seems like it will be quicker to get the second insured slot this time.
The news has divided many players. Those grinding DMZ are annoyed to see all their progress reset, understandably. However, players who didn’t really get a chance to play DMZ yet or are a bit behind might be a lot happier with getting another chance to jump in.
