Truth social

Former President Donald Trump recently announced the creation of an alternative social media platform called “Truth Social.” However, the launch has been facing some technical difficulties.

Truth Social is an app that promises to deliver a more “free speech” oriented platform and jhas been seen as an alternative to Twitter and the like. Right-leaning politicians have criticized Twitter and other similar platforms as being restrictive and even discriminatory against right-wing views. Other platforms like Parler, Gettr, and Rumble have popped up, promising to give a more conservative-friendly space.

Truth’s alternate to Tweets is “Truths” which are shown on the “Truth Feed.” “ReTruth” is the phrase used to describe sharing “Truths” with followers.

The app is being developed by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), led by former Representative David Nunes. He stated that he hopes the service to be “fully operational” by the end of March.

The app has topped charts in the Apple Store and is open to customers in the United States. Several users attempting to sign up were met with error messages and others have been waitlisted. Currently, the app is not available on Android nor for users outside of the United States.
