Sony is bringing its Xperia phone back for another season, announcing the Sony Xperia 5 IV. Sony has emphasized that its camera system has a three-lens parity. Basically, this means that the three rear cameras (standard wide, ultrawide, and telephoto) include the Real-time Eye AF for better portraits. Additionally, the camera on the Xperia 5 IV is capable of fast burst shooting speeds with HDR.

However, the Xperia 5 IV is a pricey phone, starting at $999 for the flagship.

In terms of camera lenses, the standard wide is 24mm, the ultrawide is 16mm, and the telephoto is 60mm. The telephoto lens is fixed, so it is not the optical zoom lens that is on the 1 IV. Each camera uses a 12-megapixel sensor, which is a bit of a lower resolution than most flagship phones these days.

Each rear camera is capable of 120 fps readout speeds, which allows for video recording of up to 4K at 120 fps. With features like autofocus, auto exposure, and HDR enabled, you can shoot at up to 20 fps. Additionally, the selfie camera has a new 12-megapixel sensor.

In addition to its insane camera specs, the Xperia 5 IV features a 6.1-inch 1080p OLED with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a tall 21:9 form factor. The chipset is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and it comes with a 5,000mAh battery. Additionally, it has wireless charging.

In terms of storage, the Sony Xperia 5 IV has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone also still comes with a headphone jack and a microSD card slot. There is also sub-6GHz 5G support and new stereo speakers.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV is set to release on October 27.
