The M4 has consistently been one of the most popular weapons in Call of Duty. If you’ve been playing through the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer and you want to get your M4 to gold or more, you’ve probably been looking into a good loadout.
Do keep in mind that this loadout is based off of personal preference and that your playstyle can vary. If you find that tweaking some parts of the loadout works for you, then go for it.
The M4 At a Glance
In general, the M4 is a versatile weapon that most players prefer to start with. It’s the first AR you get to use and it’s the easiest to push through. With good distance and damage, it’s a great starter weapon. However, it does have some recoil control problems. That’s why adding some good attachments will make using the M4 much easier.
M4 Loadout for Modern Warfare 2
Here is the best loadout for the M4 if you want both damage, good range, and power. This is best for aggressive pushing and close 6v6 battles:
- Receiver: M4
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
- Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp
- Barrel: Hightower 20″ Barrel
- Stock: Corio Precio Factory
- Rear Grip: XTEN Grip
This M4 loadout provides lots of value with its attachments. Firstly, I do want to address attachment tuning. This is a new feature that was added to Modern Warfare 2. I personally don’t think that attachment tuning is particularly necessary to making your loadout better.
Tuning is fixed in Modern Warfare 2, so if you want to give it a try, you can. The firing range is a great opportunity for you to test out if the tuning helps or not. If you find that it’s hindering your experience, then either adjust or remove it.
I don’t currently tune my attachments, as I think they’re fine as-is.
This loadout isn’t really the best for super long-distance fights. You’ll find that if you want a good long-distance M4, this loadout should help more:
Long-Distance M4 Loadout
- Receiver: M4
- Optic: SZ Lonewolf Optic
- Muzzle: Forge-Tac Castle Comp
- Barrel: Tempus Hightower 20″ Barrel
- Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Vert Grip
- Stock: Demo Precision Elite Factory
This loadout will give you a lot of control over the recoil compared to the first one, but it’s best for long-distance battles. This one probably won’t help you too much in close-quarters because of the ADS speed, but it’s got good accuracy and range, which is exactly what you need in long-distance.
You can get the Cinder M4 with the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 2.
