The Apple Watch is getting a high-end model that has simply been called the Apple Watch Pro, and it seems like this may be the first redesign for the popular smartwatch since 2018.
The Apple Watch Series 8 will feature the largest display ever on an Apple smartwatch, according to Bloomberg. Due to this, speculations are arising that the Apple Watch is getting a major redesign.
Gurman stated in his Power On newsletter hat the Apple Watch Pro will have a fresh design. Redesigns have not been done on the Apple Watch since the Series 4 launched in 2018. Gurman stated that the Series 8 Pro variant will be “a good bit bigger” than the current Series 7. The screen is set to be at least seven percent larger. He also stated that it would have an “evolution of the current rectangular shape” and not “those rumored flat sides.”

Apple will also employ “a more durable formulation of titanium” for the casing in order to make the smartwatch withstand heavy athletic activities better. Gurman also reported that the new Apple Watch will have a bigger battery and the low power mode seen on other Apple devices.
It was previously rumored that the Apple Watch would begin including a body temperature sensor. Gurman reported that it will be included as a part of the redesign.
Gurman did state that “it might only appeal to a subset of customers” in referencing the larger screen.
Apple is working on more than just the Apple Watch Pro. They are reportedly also working on several other devices in what Gurman calls a “deluge” of devices. Apple is also planning on releasing a replacement for the original HomePod.
