Skechers has released a statement Wednesday saying that two of its executives escorted Ye (Kanye West) from the premises.
The company said that Ye “arrived unannounced and without invitation” and that he was engaged in “unauthorized filming.” Ye was then escorted out “after a brief conversation.”
“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West,” the company said in the statement. “We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech.”
The visit to Skechers comes just a day after Adidas officially ended its partnership with the rapper with “immediate effect.” Adidas had originally put the partnership under review after West was seen wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt in public during Paris Fashion Week.
West had recently make antisemitic remarks during the Drink Champs Podcast, where he said that “I can say antisemitic sh*t and Adidas cannot drop me.” He also tweeted not too long ago that he would “Go death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”
Gap, Foot Locker, TJ Maxx, and Balenciaga also rescinded dealings with Ye.
