Overwatch 2 is set to launch in October as a free-to-play title. The hero shooter by Blizzard will allow cross-progression across all of its platforms as well, giving old Overwatch players access to their gear in the sequel.

Overwatch players can now merge their accounts across PlayStation, Windows PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. It will allow for players to keep all of their cosmetics items, credits, and gameplay statistics in one Battle.net account.

In order to merge multiple Overwatch accounts, you will need a Battle.net account. It is a requirement for cross-play in Overwatch and has been since 2021.

Players can only merge one account per platform, so if you have more than one PC account or more than one console account, you have to pick one. Additionally, Overwatch League tokens that were purchased on the Nintendo Switch will not be merged into a unified account and will remain on the Nintendo Switch.

Blizzard released an extensive FAQ on their website with most of the details explained. You can read it here if you’d like. However, merging accounts is something Overwatch players should do in advance of the Overwatch 2 early access release on October 4.
