FromSoftware, the studio behind the widely popular Elden Ring, is getting ready for new projects. The Dark Souls makers seem to be on a roll, and it doesn’t look like the streak is slowing down anytime soon.
Elden Ring game director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that the company’s next project is nearly complete and already in the final development stages in an interview with 4Gamer, a Japanese publication.
Plus, FromSoftware tweeted a link with job postings where the studio stated that it was hiring new talent across several projects. The listing page included positions ranging from game design to programming and more.
Although it is not entirely clear what the next project in development is, Miyazaki seemed to hint at it potentially being a revival of the long dormant Armored Core franchise. The mech-shooter’s last entry was Armored Core: Verdict Day and was released in 2013 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Miyazaki also confirmed that new updates for Elden Ring are coming. No specifics were given on what those updates could be. Looking at the past FromSoftware releases, post-release content has been common. Still, the new updates could be fixes.
Many fans are hoping for the Armored Core revival, which has been rumored to be in development since 2017. Other fans are hoping for a sequel to the highly beloved PlayStation 4 exclusive, Bloodborne. Still, the new projects could be completely new games. We have yet to see.
