Marvel’s Avengers is officially not getting anymore support after 2023 ends. Developer Crystal Dynamics confirmed the news, stating that Marvel’s Avengers will have its last update in March and will end all support in September.
In a blog post published on Friday, Crystal Dynamics said that the final update for Marvel’s Avengers is coming on March 31, 2023. All official support is ending on September 30, 2023. However, if you still want to play Marvel’s Avengers, the game will still be available to play. There’s just not going to be anymore new content.
In the post, Crystal Dynamics wrote: “To our amazing community, after two-and-a-half years and introducing twelve of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, following Update 2.8 on March 31, 2023, we will no longer add new content or features to Marvel’s Avengers. All official support for the game will end on September 30, 2023.
“Even after official support ceases on September 30, 2023, both single- and multi-player gameplay will continue to be available.”
The last update for Marvel’s Avengers will be titled Update 2.7. It’s going to add the Winter Soldier and Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat. With the end of updates, no more new cosmetics will be added to the Marketplace. All final balance updates will occur in the Update 2.8 in March.
The end of all updates might be a bit strange for some people, but the game was clearly on a downward decline. From the onset, Marvel’s Avengers was critiqued heavily for its graphics, clunky gameplay, and decent combat.
Marvel’s Avengers just couldn’t really meet expectations, and each new update didn’t seem to be helping. In my eyes, its early death is probably one of the more expected ones that I thought was coming ages ago.
