Destiny 2 players are going golden to raise awareness for childhood cancer this month. It comes as a show of support for a fellow Destiny 2 player who lost a child due to cancer.
In a Facebook group for dads who play Destiny (Dadstiny), a post asked other Destiny 2 players to switch their armor sets to gold in order to raise awareness:
“May 2, 2020 my family and I lost my oldest to Ewings Sarcoma, an aggressive Paediatric Cancer. The September before losing her, was the first time I started asking those of you who could, to go gold for the month of September as it’s Childhood Cancer Awareness month and gold is the colour associated with it.
“No monetary gains here, just a supportive gesture asked by one dad to others. So I am asking again if you would, my fellow dads and Guardians to please join me and go gold for the month of September. It would be awesome to see a tower of gold titans, hunters and warlocks.”
Since then, the post has been shared across Twitter and Reddit, with many Destiny 2 players showing their support and going gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
