Today marks another consistent day of higher gas prices for Canadian drives as the supply of gasoline falls behind the surging consumer demand.
Natural Resources Canada reported that average gas prices across Canada have jumped to 197.4 per liter earlier this week, the highest in recorded Canadian history.
In Vancouver pump prices averaged around $2.23 per liter, while Toronto saw better prices of slightly under $2 a liter. In Edmonton gas prices averaged $1.30 a liter.
Government-placed sanctions on the state of Russia, one of the world’s biggest oil exporters, alongside surging demand for gas due to easing national restrictions has caused a major shift between supply and demand. Prices have jumped to over $100 USD per barrel, signaling economic issues to come.
